Late nights
Ahhh summer......when the kids can stay up late, or at least mine does. I'm a night owl. Always have been and probably always will. I work a few hours each night at a doggie daycare and boarding facility and my husband works nights too. He just drives up to Kansas City and back every night for his trucking company he works for. He loves it too. Besides the good money, it's easy money. Now that he went to nights, he doesn't have to deal with the public and their bitterness they showered upon him. He does see some pretty interesting things on the road, and has encountered a deer or two, raccoons, possums, and even a coyote. I certainly can't believe I'm still up! I keep searching craigslist hoping for a rental house to come up in the town we want to move back to. We have lived in this crappy apartment for the last 3 yrs and 1 month to be exact, and believe me it was not by choice, it was a matter of availability. Our house that we had lived in for 6 years was being sold and we had to be out in a week. Such a nice landlord. Not! I will never forget it. I didn't blame him for wanting to sell his house, because he was pushing 90, but dang! Give us a week?! So I spent that week looking for a place to move, and when I couldn't find one, he took us to court. Such a nice man. The judge gave us 48 hrs to move out. Awesome! So instead of looking for a place those two days, I was packing like a mad woman, and putting everything we owned in a huge storage facility. Let me tell you that we got absolutely no sleep, because we had to be out of that house. So we ended up at my parent's house. That is something I would NEVER want to do again. We were there almost 2 months, and when we finally gave up trying to find a house, we got an apartment. YUCK! At the end of our lease we try and find a rent house and always fail. Now our lease is up again, and we have to get back to our old town so that our son can play high school baseball there. Can you believe that for the last 3 school years, I drove 30 min. so that my son could go to a certain school? Yes I did! Now that's what I call sacrificing for your child. I would drive him there everyday and I would stay there in town (mostly in the van and watch dvd's in the parking lot of the local library) or go into the library and get on the computer or read until he got out of school. Then we would drive the 30 min. back to our "dwelling" as we called it. I don't want to do that anymore. I want to live there and not have to listen to the elephants upstairs everyday. To be able to plant a garden and have flowers and vegetables would be heaven to me. What is your little things that would be your heaven?
